A major benefit of the old-school design is excellent visibility all around, making lane changing and parking less stressful.
A smooth, quiet ride is the HHR's biggest strength, as its softly calibrated suspension soaks up the bumps.
...the HHR is most stable on smooth roads. The body tends to lean a bit around corners, but maneuverability is good and handling is OK.
Onto the freeway, foot on the floor, and the HHR 2LT really scoots, which makes it a lot of fun.
We found the Chevy HHR to be fun to drive. It isn't a sports car, but it's nimble and we were pleased with its acceleration. The HHR feels more responsive than its horsepower, torque, and transmission ratio numbers suggest. Plus, it gets decent fuel economy.
