Refined powertrain, excellent gas mileage, fun to drive, clever man-machine interface.
All 2010 Milans get the new widened grille and restyled headlights that carry over the "eyelashes" giving the Milan styling part of its appeal. The side reflector lights are now much less visually obtrusive than before: the horizontal strips have been replaced by a strip that follows the curve of the front wheel well.
We're particularly pleased with the interior makeover. Whereas the previous Milan's cabin felt distinctly dated, the new one compares favorably with rival layouts, featuring an attractive design and improved ergonomics.
The Milan Hybrid uses recycled materials to cover its seats, not leather.
We were impressed with the Mariner's low overall noise level. It often uses its full-electric mode in stop-and-go driving, and it's virtually silent with the exception of a few unobtrusive, yet exclusively hybrid-style clicks and whines. Even at freeway speeds, tire and wind noise are significantly damped, making the Mariner far better than your mother's Mercury.
